Just stopped by our local Radio Shack and noticed they had a banner up  stating they're closing.  Anything in the parts drawers, ie, IC's-resistors-capacitors-transistors-etc, were 60% off.  Might be worth a visit for someone. Soldering equipment was 20% off. Enjoy!

I'm note sure if we will have extra kits at Ozarkcon, possibly, but the Cricket kit will be released For sale on the web site after OZARCON is finished.
So, we will have plenty in the near future!

When I saw Terry's reply I didn't see the pic so I was thinking "hidden oscillator " and no pic... is a joke!  That is a nice looking build.  Guess the joke was on me lol.

Good morning all,

I've cross-posted this question in the qrpometer group, but as the traffic there is very low with it's retirement, I hope this forum may yield some answers. In the qrpometer group, I found two other posts where the author described the same problem, but neither had a resolution.

After 3.5 years of sitting in my project bin, I put together the Qrpometer today.

Voltage at TP1 remains at 7.8v regardless of the pot R33 setting.
I've checked the solder joints on R31, R32, U1, and C8.
I've confirmed that the pot itself is functioning

Can anyone share some wisdom on this one please?

Thanks/72

This is an original "Cash Box " paraset as far as I can tell.  If it is not original, a very good replica !

I believe that is an original, photographed by ON9CFJ at a museum (in Brussells, Belgium ?)
http://www.brusselsmuseums.be/en/museum/86-national-museum-of-the-resistance

He apparently was granted access to the museum radio to make a detailed set of drawings that the Paraset replica builders have been using for quite a few years.

The red fabric background looks like a match to other display cases pictured on the museum's web site

CQ Magazine - Digital version

Question to those in the group that receive the digital edition of CQ Magazine.

Can you print the entire issue, or are you limited to a few pages at a time ?

Have you tried printing to a PDF, and how did it turnout ?  Where there characters that didn't translate to the pdf ?
