Hello from N5DJY, QTH Poulsbo, WA.  New to the group # 1295.  Listened on 7.122 for W0EB and sent a  couple of CQs but nothing heard.

I got that ATS-II that I bought from Woody, WD9F when he offered it for
sale here. Changed out the RCA antenna connector to a BNC as I don't
have any RCA adapters in the shack, installed the 40 meter band board,
hooked it up to the 4S Tuner and a PAR End Fed 40-20-10 meter Zepp
that's my 2nd RX antenna for the K3S. After tuning it up on 7.030, I
called a CQ and was immediately answered by Steve, AA5TB. We chatted
for a bit with signals running 449 to 559 in QSB, but no problem
carrying on the QSO. Nice first QSO for my new (to me) toy. At least I
have something to play with until my Bayou Jumper gets here. I'm pretty
sure I got my order in early enough to get one this go-round.

Woody gave me some of the history on this ATS-II and it's been well
traveled even getting to Hawaii on more than one occasion. I'll take it
to Texas and Louisiana sometime in June of next year as long as my
health doesn't go bad on me.

I'm going to tune it to 7.122 in a few minutes and see if anyone can
hear me up there. I'll be running on 9 volts worth of AAA cells at
about 3 watts out.

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy & Prosperous New Year to all ye who
travel the 4State QRP Group's reflector.

73,

Jim - W0EB

Merry Christmas

I didn't hear the mailman, but he surely must have been saying "Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas", when he put the Bayou Jumper in my mail box today !!!!

Alternative case for Bayou Jumper?

Hi All,

and wondering if it might work for the Bayou Jumper? Any guidance is appreciated.

Bayou Jumper News

Walter - K5EST

The latest news of the Bayou Jumper is that the first run has sold out!

Thank you for supporting the newest amazing kit from 4SQRP that supports OzarkCon.

The order portal has been turned off until we are re-stocked and ready to ship again. We prefer not to back order your purchases so we maintain the important ship as the orders are received. This has help us maintain a required tight control on order processing. We sure do not want to let an order fall out of control.

We shall resume the ordering portal and shipping shortly. Please watch the reflectors for the latest Bayou Jumper News.

Again, we at 4SQRP appreciate your support AND if you have not purchased the wooden case to house the Bayou Jumper, this would be a good time to begin the case as we get re-stocked. Please see the kit webpage for the source of the case.......

For those of us who have them on order, how can we find out if we got in
before the sell out? I need to know this due to a build commitment for
someone.

I think it might be time to mention that from conception to delivery to your mailbox 100% of the people involved with the exception of the U.S. Postal system folks are VOLUNTEERS. That means that they are involved with earning a living, being members of a family unit, getting sick and then getting well. ALL the profit goes to putting on OzarkCon each spring.

It wasn’t an accident that 4Sqrp kits came in 2nd amongst all amateur radio kits to Elecraft. Elecraft, of course, is a for profit commercial company and in fact in that survey 4Sqrp beat out several other for profit kit builders.

So when you purchase a 4Sqrp kit you are without a doubt getting the biggest bang for your kit building buck. All it cost you is having a bit of patience, realizing it is folks just like you that are making these kits available — the only difference is that they volunteered to get your kit to you as quick as they can manage and do it for nothing in return.

A big thanks to all those involved in the 4Sqrp kitting process!!!!

I built this a while back but never uploaded a video of how well it works

It is now in ny4g.blogspot.com

Notice how well it blocks a strong station in the video.

Kudos to 4States QRP for making such an effective filter design available
