I think I'll have some nixie tubes to sell, some old freq counter shells (where the Nixies came from) and some other odds and ends quite possibly.  Some old 2m rigs?  I dunno but I'll sure be there.  With any luck it WONT be chilly and drizzly like it has been the last few years I remember.

This is a time to just pull up your pick-up or car and open the trunk to buy/sell/trade.  Raise some gas money for the trip to Dayton.  Buy some stuff to take with and sell at the Hamvention. If you don’t have anything, come over anyway and have a few eyeball QSO’s with some old friends. You can always get a cup of coffee afterwards.

Gang,

A quick note on HAMjitsu...I'm currently working on a major redesign and framework migration.  If you visit the site and notice old spots (part of the reason for the overhaul) don't hesitate to email me and request a restart.  This will be the modus operandi until the new server is up and running.

Thanks!!! :-)

I signed up for silver membership with eQSL and they have a nice

This is based on incoming logs for the last few hours etc. It shows
interaction and distance between stations. QRZ has some stuff too.

I'm going to revisit the reverse beacon network stuff from OzCon too.

What about the propagation forecasts. What do you like? What's
science-based?

Re: Qrpometer

Rich Fowler <k8meg@...>

GM John,
There is some discussion about this topic in the Yahoo Group. If you are a member, go into Conversation and search for BNC. There may be some pictures in the photo section also.
Bottom line is there are not exact replacements that will drop in. You will have to hack the PCB to make it fit. Another alternative that some have use is mounting the QRPometer in a case and wiring to chassis mounted BNCs.

The profiles shown on EBay are pretty standard. Mouser part number 565-674, for example. Right angle profiles will be pretty much the same for this part.

Hope this helps!
72,
Rich K8MEG

I am building the QRPOMeter, and want to use BNC connectors instead of phono. I don't want to use adapters either.

So does anyone have a part number for a PCB mount BNC that will fit?

Thanks, John NS5Z

Many have done this and probably know the # from Mouser. If you don’t get a reply email me direct and I will see if I can get a # for you.

Hey Casey........

We missed you at OzarkCon this year. We had a great time. I MC'd again this year, introducing speakers and
had a talk too. They were all interesting.

Hope to see you in Branson next year. Less than 360 days away now! Hi.

with Field Day just around the corner, and my portable QRP set-up research on Antennas ,have any of you used or built Moxon Antennas ? Share your Thoughts opinions and results please , yeh i have an antenna tuner i built that actually seems to be working , i even got my first SSB QSO on ten Meters on 5 watts, i felt like i conquered the World ,hihi. my contact was a whole hour away , i had to wait for him to finish with a West Indies DX QSO and pounced , was funny he asked where i was located and he said, ok, let me turn my Beam to hear you better ! When i told him i was running QRP 5 watts, he was surprised and gave me a 569 ,said i had good audio on my Argo 556 , big deal to me first phone QSO in over 40 yrs ,hihi. No worries , i still enjoy CW and listen to improve it daily ,hihi.

here is a link and another for free software to help  design a Moxon Antenna ,(yah Hams like free), http://moxonantennaproject.com/

Now let me know what other good Antenna Modeling Software ,(free and otherwise ), you enjoy using , cause i realize my hillbilly antenna knowledge has to sharpen up some . hihi.

who has logged the most cw qsos on 7122?

Phil Anderson

Who (in 4SQRP) has logged the most CW QSOs on 7122. Could this be a one time 4SQRP reward?
I know it is not me. I'm still typing my contacts into my new AC4.6 log data base - a page a day - and have about 1/2 of my logbook
still go to. I counted 77 so far. Many are dupes; I've worked KV6Z at least six times. He mentioned to me at OzCon that we've worked
a number of times.

Nice things about most logging programs is that you can sort by category, so listing by frequency brings all my 7122 contacts to one
spot. Why not compare yours with the membership list on the web; but there are more W25 awards that are earned but not claimed!

Terry and others call nets, I suspect that they've reached 1000 QSOs on 7122? Maybe. Gee, ten centuries of 7122 QSOs...make your wrist tired!

Why are numbers so facinating to us humans? Grampa used to keep score with paper and pencil during the baseball radio broadcasts. Seemed odd to
me as a little kid in Minneapolis. Snow outside was more fun! I liked his tomatoes and gramma's rice pudding tho.  :)

Anybody else thinking about that reverse beacon project introduced at Ozcon. Interesting stuff. More numbers!
