Re: The Bayou Jumper on a POTA activation
It sure is a fun little radio, Peter. I get mine out and use it every now and then and have a blast. It reminds me of my nostalgic Novice days with those FT243 crystals.

Re: Soldering Iron Temperature
Hi Woody, as stated below, soldering is as much an art as a science. I personally use 62/36/2 Rosen core
solder. It is a utectic blend that contains 2% silver which really improves the wetting

Re: QSTs (2015, 2016, 2017)
Andy, quick question for you. What is the least expensive way to ship books to Scotland from the US? I looked at our US Post Office regs and it is bewildering - what with VAT's and the like. Certainly

Re: Intriguing PCB holder on Amazon
Interesting but when building would it be hard to keep flipping the board to solder?
I also note the sloppy LED installation in the one image...

Today's ham is NOTHING like the ham of yesteryear. No I'm not going to make any comments about the code I'm not going to make any comments about the lack of theory, just plain old don't care about

I have all but a very few (9?) of ALL the small digest sized issues.
Since I'm a man of (minimal) moderation, I stopped collecting with the change to the large format magazine :-)

I give all of mine to the local library at the end of the year when I’m done with them. Head librarian is a ham but not an ARRL member so they all get bound up a year at a time and made available

I had complete QST's back to 1969 when I decided to give them away to make room in my shack for the installation of a new furnace. I took several years of them to local ham swap meets and I could not

Bob,
I've been out a better part of today so I am catching up on about 40 accumulated e-mails. Although this is a late response to an early afternoon offer, if you still have any of those QST back
