Re: Antenna "loading"
Doc I think you're confusing the difference between "impedance" and "resistance"
A 50 ohm dummy load at DC is 50 ohms (more or less) but at 14 MHz it might be something totally different - even though

This is a cool thread.
My Elmer passed several years ago. He took my mic away and made me a CW op. He also "battered" me until I could copy with the filter between my ears. He had me so pumped up on

Re: Antenna "loading"
Doc,
I am not certain what you are trying to accomplish with the 25 ohm and 100 ohm dummy loads.
I routinely use those loads to balance and calibrate the wattmeters in Elecraft

Elmer?
I will be moving to OKC in about three weeks...we hope. Is there an QRP Elmer who will let me buy breakfast or lunch? In my new neighborhood, I don't think I'll be doing much, if any QRO.

Antenna "loading"
I am a major electro-dummy...please the elementary question...when reading a recent QST review, reference was made to the difference in SWR meter readings based on 25 and 100 Ohm antenna resistance.
