John,
I have used the NorCal Doublet made from both ribbon cable and zip cord. It has performed well for me as both a flat top doublet and a sloper in several Flights of the Bumblebees. I have used

Re: Norcal doublet
John,
I have one in my bag, works OK for me and cost almost nothing to build. I used mine with a BLT ASTU, that's the only caveat, you have to use a balanced ASTU. You need ribbon cable to build one?

Re: 4sqrp Thursday Morning Net Checkins
With increasing daylight, I doubted that 2 1/2 hours after my NJ sunrise I'd hear you guys. But doggone, there was Terry, 937 miles distant, pushing an easy 559. I dropped my callsign at 1450Z, but

I managed to get the radio in my office turned on late in the net and was surprised to hear it was still going. I copied WA0ITP, KD4OBQ, WR9H(?) and NE5DL(?). Everyone was really solid here in

Second Sunday Sprint Coming up
If you haven't looked at your calendar lately, you may not have noticed that this coming Sunday, January 12th, is the 2nd Sunday of the month, which means SECOND SUNDAY SPRINT (or SSS for short). Dust

Wednesday evening nets
Well once again we got quality not quantity (always get quality with the 4-Staters!).
As expected it was a little thin but a couple of nice surprises, Mileage courtesy of QRZ.com:
