I gotta ask, how does one search the Group's yahoo messages for a specific
topic, e.g. the word "sprint" ? ---------------------------------- Real radios weigh less than a pound. I love this radio stuff ! 72 WA0ITP www.wa0itp.com www.4sqrp.com

Hi Terry I thought that I'd provide come contacts (as opposed to actually entering the sprint) but you were the only contact that I was able to make. 73 Mike - wb9dlc 73

OT: For Sale, Vibroplex "Champion" Bug
Paring down my collection just a bit -- On the block is a nice Vibroplex "Champion" model, vintage 1962 in good operating condition with an extra weight to slow it down some. Base is grey crackle finish and there is a bit of rust on the screws that hold the rubber feet on and on the base under the feet. I've cleaned it as well as possible with mineral spirits. Owing to it's age, there are a few bits of the crackle finish that are missing or showing wear and some blemishes in the chrome plating. This is totally normal on one that's this old. I've had it on the air and it runs just fine.
I'm going to list this on the Elecraft and Flying Pigs reflectors as well so if anyone is interested in it let me know soonest. Off the list to keep the clutter down please.
I'm asking $100 plus shipping (USPS Priority Flat Rate with insurance will run around $12.50 if I remember right). Cash, USPS Money Order or PayPal (Gift or add 5%).
First "I'll take it" (by date/time on the email) gets right of first refusal. Pictures available on request.

OT: Retracting the Vibroplex "Deluxe Original" bug for sale ad.
Just got done cleaning this key up and it cleaned up WAY too pretty not to keep. I've decided to keep it and sell one of my older, "plane Jane" models instead. Going to list that one for sale in a separate email a bit later.
Sorry for getting somebody's hopes up.

4x4 Sprint
WA0ITP
Pretty slim pickens here in Radar's home town. I operated mosty on 40 and it
was in pretty good shape, just not many takers. I made only 11 contacts for a total of 176 points. ---------------------------------- Real radios weigh less than a pound. I love this radio stuff ! 72 WA0ITP www.wa0itp.com www.4sqrp.com

nvis antenna did better than vertical on sprint 4x4
Phil Anderson
Hey Bart,
I forgot to mention that the noise here was less on my home-brew NVIS dipole than on the expensive SteppIR 33 foot vertical fir 7122. Hm. May switch to the alternative currency that guys are using on the web now. unc Phil.

Re: WQ5RP #30
Phil Anderson
Hey Bart, looking at my log I worked both you and Terry. Fun huh.

So I worked 4SQRP # 30!!!!! Does that count toward another W25 along with WA0ITP already worked? Ha! By the way, I noticed that there was confussion on what message to send on each sprint qso. The download I read said to send "RST, SPC, and 4X4?" RST, of course is aok. I found the definition for SPC lower on the downloaded instructions and used KS as you did. But what the heck is 4x4? Some were senting their NR # for 4sqrp, some simply sent their power output (even if a member) and some simple sent 4x4 specifiically. I guess it really doesn't matter. Does 4x4 have a specific meaning? It was probably in the sheet and I missed it! I'm getting older!!! I think I need to have a big burger for supper! HI. 72, Uncle Phil Bart Lawson wrote :

What a hoot!!!
W0IIT
Hi all,
Yes, it was a hoot to work Johnny AC0BQ, Phil W0XI, Terry WA0ITP using the club call, and Dave W0CH on 7.122 in less time than it takes to write about it!! Lots of fun but man condx were TUFF here in the Pitts. A thunder boomer had just passed and I was still listening to it when the sprint closed down. Didn't work many Q's but had a blast. By the first Saturday in Nov. thunderstorm should be rare:-) cu es 72, Bart W0IIT Pittsburg, KS 4Sqrp = #72, FP= #11, ARS=#568, SKCC=1139, NAQCC=#588 FIST=#5819, Zombie=#500, Geritol=#1000(from back when I actually had a mic connected to my rig:-)

WQ5RP #30
W0IIT
A huge thank you to Dave for getting our club call a 4SqrpGroup #. I asked about it around 10 this morning thinking it would be neat for future events and darned if he didn't have it a number before the 4X4 sprint took off. So if you worked Terry using the club call you worked 4SqrpGroup #30!!!!!
Thanks Dave!!!!! cu es 72, Bart W0IIT Pittsburg, KS 4Sqrp = #72, FP= #11, ARS=#568, SKCC=1139, NAQCC=#588 FIST=#5819, Zombie=#500, Geritol=#1000(from back when I actually had a mic connected to my rig:-)

OT: 1969 Vibroplex Original Deluxe for sale
I have a 1969 Chrome base Vibroplex "Deluxe Original" model Serial# 260100 for sale. This key has the black knob and thumb piece and was made as a "Radio" bug as it doesn't have the telegrapher's "Circuit Closer" switch.
This key shows only minor wear from use and is in nice condition. Asking $175 shipped and insured. I will also follow Vibroplex's instructions to remove and wrap the lever arm separately so it doesn't get damaged in shipment. I will email pictures on request.
Cash, USPS Money Order or PayPal accepted (PayPal gift or add 5%)
Offering it here first and if no interest, I'll list it on the Elecraft reflector Monday.
Please contact me off the list if you are interested
