Do they make bamboo tomato stakes that long?

And of course these should be very low cost....

Dale,

How about hollow fiberglass kite spars?

http://www.intothewind.com/

I've used them for VHF quad spreaders.

Newbie Question

Jim

Can I start making contacts towards awards, even though I have not been issued a number, yet, or do I have to wait until one is issued. I have been hanging out on 3.564 and 7.122. Have not heard anyone. Will try the nets Wednesday evening, weather permitting. Possible storms, here.

Little Piggie

Wayne,

Haven't heard from you, so assumed it was OK to
hold the little piggie in captivity a little longer.

I kept putting off sending it home 'cuz I was almost
completed on the WAS using the little critter. It is
a fun little rig and it is in a new playpen that comes
with the build that I did.

I bought one and got it in Aug while I was in California
and it is still in it's bag and I'm afraid if I don't get yours
back to you then I'll never have a reason to build it. :-)

Thanks for letting me build it and use it. I have lots of
40m rigs and I just wanted to build one to have the
experience.

dit dit es gl,

chuck, k7qo

P.S. Will ship it priority mail on Monday with a tracking
number that I will email to you.

Thanks guys!  Appreciate the kudos!

Getting ready to begin the December Banner draft. Looking for articles of new projects either simple or complicated. Our readership seems to be growing and hungry for building gear.

Also next month brings the 2nd edition of the Banner index of articles.

QRP nation has certainly been giving back to the advance of ham radio, we should be proud.

Thanks for all the help.

Re: K1 problem

Dale Putnam

Hi John,
The headphone jack is a weak link, and needs replacing. It won't hurt anything to use it with just the external speaker either.
If you need a jack, Elecraft can send one quickly. If you want, I can swap it out quick for you.
Good Luck,

Have a great day,

There are a couple of right up's about it on the Elecraft resource
page. Drop support an e-mail and they will help you out. Last
I heard, they were supplying new plugs but, that make you
take the rig apart and replace the plug..

Most folks just decided to use and external speaker all the time.

LDG DTS-6 Antenna Switch

Jim Sheldon

A few days ago, I put out a request to see if anyone had the remote head for an LDG DTS-6 antenna switch, but not having much luck.  Failing that, is there anyone in the 4S group that has successfully created their own using an Arduino or other microcontroller?  Would appreciate any info available.

I have an Arduino UNO, but have not had any time to mess with it and my programming skills are sadly atrophied from long dormancy.
