CQ 4

Just worked Mike WB9DLC on 7122, he called "CQ 4" to see if any Four Staters
were around. He had a nice signal and we had a nice QSO. Jump in sometime, the waters fine on 7122. ---------------------------------- Real radios weigh less than a pound. I love this radio stuff ! 72 WAITP www.wa0itp.com www.4sqrp.com

RMRC net today 14.0625 2045z
Dale Putnam
Rocky Mountain Regional and Continental net will be called today at 2:45z MT today..
That's 2045z on 14.0625 kc oooops.. KHz that is... and it will be called at your speed... Last week.. the NCS had the most errors .. by far.. and no excuse was aired. Not a good thing. Efforts will be made to not let that happen again. (as the 2nd harmonic says... "no promises") Come check in.. and see what is going on in the other shack.. at YOUR speed cw. Have a great day, Last Tuesday we had: KE6OIO CA AA7CU AZ N9RLO IN K0DTJ CA with signals that were affected by poor condx.. although today should be better. And with the sporadic e open on 6.. I'll be monitoring 6 around 50.1 today too. See you on the net! --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy

Wed Nite CW Nets
WA0ITP
Lots of fun last night! My PigRig
Performed Perfectly, it was a P^3 net nite :o) Bert, NØYJ had a good
signal from a parking lot in Salina, KS. Ask him how he did that.
Kudos to Herb, WR9H for his Trifecta, making it into all 3 nets.
Johnny should be back in
the shack next Wednesday night and I'm looking forward to checking the 40M nets
then.
I have lost the ability to copy the
load and make nice looking tables in emails, any tips would be
appreciated.
Thanks for checking in, appreciate
it.

Hi Gary, The cost of mailing you a part from a list member will not be any less than the cost of postage from Mouser. When you order the part from from Mouser request shipping by U.S.P.S. You do NOT have to use the more expensive shipping choices but you do have to ask for USPS. 73, Bill KU8H

Re: Question

Bobby,
Get rid of the telescopic whip and find a piece of solid copper wire the
correct length. Just a piece straightened out from #18 or #14 ?? should
work.
Works fine with a mag mount but better with solid vehicle chassis ground.
It'll work for you. The telescopic whip introduces some strange things.

Well I took my MFJ 259B and headed to the park with the hamstick and the 10 foot telescopic whip. After several tries at many different lengths I had no luck. I am using a mag mount on my Jeep so maybe that's the problem? I have had good results with the mount when using other hamsticks but I just could not get this to pan out. Any more idea's. I could just order a 17 meter stick. Hey,but what fun is that!

Broken part for HF Test Set
Gary <wf0gmn@...>
While finishing up a build of the HF Test Set, I accidentally broke a lead on C9 (12-60 pf variable trim cap.).
Before I order one from Mouser and pay 10x the part cost in shipping, I thought I'd ask and see if anyone has one lying around. Thanks, Gary, WF0GMN

OK, the HT is QRP and I'm from Kansas, so maybe it isn't Off Topic: I have a dead VX6R. I have some accessories that are still viable, such as antenna, battery, alkline case, car adapter and so forth.
If any of you have this unit and could use the accessories, I'd be glad to send them to you. Just send message to me directly: VALVEtimer@... Roy Crosier AC9DN
