Free To A Good QRP Home
Sam Neal
Hello, I have a factory built Oak Hills Research WM-2 QRP Watt meter that fell off the shelf, and like Humpty Dumpty, it had a greart fall. The fall knocked the clear plastic cover off of the meter, but the meter still works fine. There is no damage to the meter movement. I replaced the old meter with a new one Satureday, and should anyone want it, they can have the old meter free of charge and I pay the shipping. So there is no mistake, this is the meter only, with the clear plastic cover removed and long gone, and is not the entire WM-2 QRP Wattmeter. 73, Sam Neal N5AF

FS Pig Rig
George H. Gates
Piggy 132 is for sale
Well broken in as I have made over 125 contacts. Even a few DX. It
uses the orig xtals and xmits on 7030.7. I added a tuneable audio filter. There
is a picture of this rig on the pig site. Since that picture I did add a switch
to turn the filter on or off. I found the filter handy to peak the sigs of guys
who call me off freq. I also added the latest keyer chip. Everything works as it
should. I am ready to build my next kit now. Price is $65.00 shipped con.
U.S. only.

I would love to build this kit - but I don't want to own one as I have A KX3 and it's sooooo nice.

Four State Releases New Kit
WA0ITP
The Four State QRP Group is pleased to announce the availability of the Cyclone
40 Transceiver. This innovative and simple transceiver by NMS is an enhanced version of Dave's QRP ARCI's 72 Part Challenge Design Contest entry in 2010. This is a complete kit, including the enclosure. The price is a buck a part plus shipping, $104 total, for domestic sales. Purchasing info and more details are on the kit's home page here http://www.4sqrp.com/cyclone.php Here are some of the design features: . All through hole parts and easy assembly. NO SMD parts . Less than 100 components . Superhet receiver with very good sensitivity and selectivity . "Perfect" QSK very high speed and absolutely seamless operation. . VFO tunes the entire 125 kHZ CW segment of the 40M band at a comfortable tuning rate. . Transmitter output is nominally 4W. Those built so far are running ~ 4.6W . Frequency readout is included so you know where you are at all times. . A very attractive PCB enclosure is included. It's easy to assemble and looks great. . All parts are included, jacks, knobs, enclosure, transformers, everything. This is a complete kit, including a black enclosure with white silkscreened labels. We hope you enjoy this high performance transceiver. ---------------------------------- I love this radio stuff ! 72 WAITP www.wa0itp.com www.4sqrp.com

Re: HF Poor / 6M Good
Don't know if there is a specific CW calling frequency, but most of the CW activity was from about 50.080 through 50.110. SSB is usually from 50.125 (calling freq) and up. LOTS of great sporadic E activity over the last few days so if you have 6M capability, even with simple wire antennas, jump on the band. It usually opens up after noon and runs well into the evening hours when it's open. Also, check out the website --- http://www.dxmaps.com/spots/map.php?Lan=E&Frec=50&ML=M&Map=NA&DXC=N&HF=N&GL=N which will show the openings on a map and where the activity is.

Hi and GM Johnny, I found the activity at 50.1 +/- a little. I was looking for cw.. figured that would get through better... maybe? Didn't take a trip up the band to the ssb spots tho. Was so intently listening for the JA opening.. I have to get a much better antenna. *grin* Have a great day, --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy To: 4sqrp@...; daleputnam@... From: jomatlock@... I had fun working the Alabama guys in their party today and the the
Maritime guys too , but what I have really been digging for was
enough museum / ships for a certificate . My log is mixed modes on
all bands from 80 through 6 . Even getting some WSPR time in .

One band would be up and another dead . Really strange day for propagation , but still managed a few contacts . All 3 of the ship museums mentioned earlier . Still not quite done for the evening , may dig up one or two more that I need. Charlie , W5COV
