Would have been helpful to have the Group code on the Ozarkcon page which would have made booking on-line a snap. See y'all in April. Wayne - NQ0RP QRP - EFFICIENCY AND SKILL, NOT POWER.

Re: N75 Subgroup Issue
AG1P Ron
OOPS. It seems to have disappeared. Groups.io had a “possible” database corruption issue which may be the cause or maybe the “Ghost in the Machine” or ???? I have created the group again. I apologize for those who signed up and need to do it again. Please reload any uploaded files to the Files Section.

Dear 4SQRP., Just signed up for the conference. As usual I did not read the screen all the way. Who do I contact to move from the second kit building session to the first session? Also...is there a list of the Homebrew Categories? Thank you, Jeffrey R. Collins - W7GRV FCC(SW) USN, Ret. BS, EMT-P, FF I/II On 2/21/2020 12:48 PM, AG1P Ron wrote:

Unless the programming has changed, anyone paying via PayPal is added to the attendee list immediately upon completion of the Paypal Transaction. Anyone mailing in a payment for registration will not be indicated in the attendee list until Tom receives the payment in the mail and logs it into the database.

Gm Tim I think Tom Brown has to process each Applicant by hand, so there may be a delay. It’s not real time. 72 Johnny

Bayou Jumper and Su'per Up'er - more questions!
I have completed installation of the Su'per Up'er (SU) on a original version (white panel) Bayou Jumper (BJ) and I am now in the 'bring it to life' phase. I have two problems to discuss and 2 questions to go along with those. P1: I do not appear to have dc continuity between the +12VDC input point and the rotary switch (SW1d). I do have continuity from the DC input jack to the connections on Q6(drain) so something between those two is defunct (there is a via which takes the +12V from one side to the other and I am eyeing it). Today I will once again remove the front panel and do some more sleuthing. A friend commented that the manual mentions making sure the certain via's need looking at and, yes, that is in one of the manuals and I will do so. Q1: anyone else have a problem in this area?? P2: I noticed that the DC connector plug/jack has a pretty darned flaky/loose connection. The owner of the BJ mentioned he also noted that had been a problem for him also. I do remember those type of connectors having several physical variations and I will be looking into that today. Q2: anyone else have this problem (i.e. loose plug/jack on the 12VDC input)? All help appreciated! Bob Groh, WA2CKY

Re: Cricket 40 ac hum
KD5ALD
What I think about tuned antennas and hum :) I have a problem at this point differentiating scientific facts from personal thoughts that may not be completely true ! Also I often lack the willpower to study to find the truth ! Nevertheless :) I in my heart truly believe A tuned wire of at least 1/2 wave length of the desired frequency has definite advantages I feel anything less than 1/2 wave length is compromised as to radiation efficiency A wire tuned to a specific frequency seems to work somewhat as a band pass filter ! I have spent hours listening with unturned wires and listening with tuned wires and I prefer tuned wire ! I have absolutely zero experience with end fed wires I am a 1/2 wave dipole and balanced feed line type of fella ! Rather proven science or not :) My heart tells me this is so :) As far as hum I run battery power and earbuds with my cricket ! I use a short direct to the ground , ground ! Beware of most everything that is powered by AC Try unplugging everything you can think of ! I have at times been bothered by noise Also I will say Most times the noise was self induced by me the operator :) 73 72 88 de kd5ald

Thanks to all who checked in tonight Tonight's topic: You have 50 ft of twin lead and have to make a multi band HF antenna what design would you use: Most solutions where for an end fed long wire, one Idea from Ed for a Delta Loop, and Charles had several suggestions, one of my favorite portable antennas is 50 feet of twin with 25 feet trimmed away on one side, connected to a 4 to 1 unun, the 50 ft wire is the radiator and the 25 ft piece is the counter poise, a j pole of sorts, works great and only one support required.
