Question: how to add 'Kit Building Session' to my already submitted registration

wa2cky

I'm all signed up for the upcoming OzarkCon 2020 and have volunteered to help out for the 'Kit Building Session'.  I also decided I would like to get one of the kits for myself (who can turn down another CW key!!). Who should I contact to make that happen?  Thanks.

Looking forward to the convention!!

Bob Groh, WA2CKY

Tomorrow night's net topic will be audio gain control vs rf gain control in simple QRP rigs which do you prefer, if you can only have one or the other.

Look forward to hearing your opinions tomorrow night.

#OZARKCON Prize donations from 4SQRP members #OZARKCON

Ed Meyer, WG5F

Every year, we’ve members that personally contribute prizes for OzarkCon.

We’ve had some remarkably generous gifts in the past.

Again, this year is no exception.

We already had a couple of really nice prizes that’ve been contributed from the shacks of your fellow 4-Staters.

I’d like to encourage you to do the same.

If you have unbuilt kits that you think you’ll not get to, or a well-built kit that’s fully functional but just not being used, or maybe a Key from your collection, or a station accessory gathering dust, consider donating it to be used as a prize at OzarkCon 2019.

Everyone loves to take home a prize, and your contribution would be appreciated.

Please, limit your contribution to items in new or very excellent condition.

We prefer to get the prizes ahead of OzarkCon so we can account for them properly and get them into the drawing sequence.

If that’s not possible, we’ll certainly accept them at the prize table during the event.

We look forward to seeing you at OzarkCon if you can attend.

While not a book, I highly recommend checking Charlie Morris ZL2CTM's Youtube work.  He regularly builds radios block by block, shows the math, and demonstrates the block working before moving on to the next.  Enjoy!

locked #ADMIN Periodic Reminder About Group Rules #ADMIN

main@4SQRP.groups.io Group Moderators <main@...>

PERIODIC REMINDER

The 4SQRP Mailing List exists for several purposes:

  • To encourage the discussion of QRP activities and techniques, especially those that relate to 4SQRP events.
  • To provide support for 4SQRP kits and products on the main list or in one of the specialty subgroups.
  • To share your QRP operating experiences and techniques.
The 4SQRP Mailing list IS NOT for the purpose of supporting the products of other companies or clubs. If you have a question about their products or if you have a service issue with another vendor, this is not the place to discuss it. Contact them directly. We're sorry you had a problem but we aren't here to help everyone in the world.

If you choose to ignore our simple rules don't be surprised if you receive a note from a moderator, get yourself placed on permanent moderation, or get banned from the list. We are all reasonable people and are not vindictive. However, we can be provoked. The Moderators are volunteers. We get no pay, no free kits, etc.

One last comment; Sending a message outside the guidelines but marking it as "off topic" is sure fire way to get placed on moderation as you have clearly demonstrated that you don't believe the rules apply to you.

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing the regular "F5 dance" on the N75 page! LOL

Word is that everything's ready to go except for the 4 digit displays, and there's no ETA for that shipment.  I have displays and have asked for a kit 'as is', but no word yet if that's going to be entertained.

F5. Sigh.

Johnny,

You were 589 on 40 for the first 7-8 minutes and then zilch.  Threw out my Call in desperation around the 15 minute mark, heard some part of a Call come back weakly and then silence.

As you said, 80m was super quiet tonight usually around S8 noise...... however no signals were heard except for an occasional dit or dah.

There were some storms between us.

Maybe next week ?
