Re: I saw a Gene Autry show
Everett Catlin
The name of the 4SQRP group Murania came from the Gene Autry movie serial the "Phantom Empire" You can see all twelve of the episodes http://arcive.org. Then search "Phantom Empire". Look for the box that says episodes 1-12 and have a great time. You will find the Origin of the radio's name and where the atomic symbol on the Murania comes from. My Murania is a daily user. I listen to WSM Nashville and 1280 kcs out of Columbia. At night I have heard WLS, Alanta and many other DX broadcast stations. If you don't have one get one you will have fun. 73 Everett Catlin N5MZX 4SQRP No. 1314

In these cameras, the zoom is digital (controlled by the software) and the focal point is optical (controlled on the camera).

I saw a Gene Autry show
Paul Smith
This morning i was channel surfing instead of cleaning and came across a show about Gene Autry. There was a several minute segment of the Radio Ranch Show and many scenes from Murania. Now I will research and see if I can find any more. Murania kit sales have remained good and I will have to kit again next week as my stack of boxed up ready to mail kits is growing low. have a good one all. I am talking to my sons to see if they will attend Brutus with me. until later remember to drink all your milk and say your prayers

Nouveau 75 Errata
nm0s_qrp <ai9e_qrp@...>
For those who have just purchased our new Nouveau 75 kit, a sharp-eyed builder has spotted two errata in the manual dated 7-21-19. They are:
1. The instruction manual dated 7-21-19 has incorrect directions for inserting Q2. It should read: 'Insert Q2 with the large flat side facing the RIGHT of the board.'
2. Instructions for connecting the ribbon cable were incomplete. Pin 1 on the PCB connects to the LED board terminal labeled 'CLK'. A corrected manual will be uploaded to the kit web page soon. 73 Dave Cripe NM0S

Nice idea! I have one of the Samsung Android devices. 5MP resolution and it focuses down to 3 inches. 'Newer' is probably better as the technology improves. 73- Dave

I often use my IPad to look at and enlarge projects through the camera app. If you then take a clean picture you can enlarge it greatly and cleanly so you can inspect your work. Perhaps Android phones and tablets are equally as good or better..... give it a shot. Just take 2 fingers and spread the image, squeeze to return. I attached a photo for reference. 73, John 1603 KK4ITX

I didn’t hear anything on 80m and I put out my Call (not really a cool thing to do on a net) and heard no response. 40m here at the campground is a total wipeout with QRM, I checked but had S8 noise.

Hello Mike I just got home from my monthly civic obligation, and Terry went to supper with friends. It’s pretty stormy down my way so I’m not sure I could have heard anyone. Hope to be on next week. 73 Johnny

Re: Brutus Bash 2019 Info
W6BOW
Johnny et al.
Thanks for the kind invite.
Brutus looks like the real deal. Quite the skyhook for antenna work, no?
My poor puns aside ...
The serious point being that it is great that "Brutus" and similar sites
… including USS Hornet -ars NB6GC … USS Texas - ars KC5NX … Chatham, MA Marconi Maritime Center - ars WA1WCC (all of which I've worked using the Hilltopper 20)
are being conserved, restored or re-purposed, and celebrated for their historical, engineering and cultural significance.
I visited the Bethlehem Steel Works in the Lehigh Valley earlier this year. (See pics).
Switch to "Safety".
