Oak Hills Research QRP Classic for sale
I have a good condition QRP Classic CL2040 20 and 40 meter transceiver for sale. I just tested it and it puts out 4 watts. See photos. I am asking $125.00 + $15.00 shipping. Any interest please contact me at Djwilcox01 at gmail dot com. Thank you. Dave K8WPE since 1960

Bayou Jumper for sale
I have had fun using my BJ after I built it a few years ago but now it the time to sell and go on to other kits on the bench. Mine is a first edition BJ built in a beautiful Hobby Lobby box along with the Soup'r Up'r kit (unbuilt) and a stock of crystals and items to make your own crystals. Please see the photos. I am asking $125.00 plus $15.00 for shipping via Priority Mail mid sized box. PayPal please. Contact me with any questions. Yes, it does work as per specs but this is a "no return" transaction. One just sold on eBay for this same price without the extras. I am 100% on eBay but would like to reduce the extra work and their take from my sale price. PayPal takes their share and the eBay plus PayPal fees eat up the selling price. I am considering that. Thank you for listening to my spiel. Too many radios, too little energy and interest. I have other kits waiting to be built and enjoyed. I want this to be enjoyed more by someone else. Contact me at djwilcox01 at gmail dot com only. Thank you. Dave K8WPE since 1960.

To key the radio w/o the mic you'll need a 4-circuit TRRS plug - short the sleeve and first ring together.

Re: Finished my Nouveau 75, hum on transmit audio!
Sorry, I got the other msg first. In that case mic cord shielding & rf feedback are possibilities. Keying the transmitter without mic attached should resolve that question quickly. You should be able to easily determine the keying line at the mic cord Jack and apply a temporary ground while checking the rf waveform. Let us know how that goes.

How are you powering the radio & could you have a ground loop? Is your mic cord shielded? Check these items first.

Hello Bob,
I have tried it on 3 power supplies, in fact. One on my workbench (a switcher) and the other two are 50 amp astron's that I use everyday in the shack. I always troubleshoot into a dummy load with a watt meter in line. Putting it on an antenna has the same result with the hum. The voltage from the PS's is 13.8. I'm going to look into it a bit more this weekend, and let you know if I come up with anything, especially about the power output. Thanks for replying! John

Hello Dwayne,
I'm using the handheld mic that comes with the kit. What I have to figure out is how to key the rig without the mic, which I will do probably this weekend. This way I can eliminate the mic as a possible problem.

Re: Nouveau 75
Charles W. Powell
Thanks for the information Bob. I have heard a lot of activity on 75m AM because I often just turn on the radio when I'm in the shack. I'll have to pull out the Hardrock 50 if I really want to be heard. The HR-50 should be fine because you can over-drive it beyond its specifications and the only worry is overheating. As long as you watch the temp, it will be fine. I think it's pretty heavily under-spec for what the finals can do.
I figure that most of the stations won't hear me even if I try running barefoot. I was surprised that Johnny and I couldn't work this evening because he was S9+20 on the CW net. But then that's the difference between CW and AM. I think it also might help if I put up a true NVIS antenna, like a horizontal loop in the back yard. I have just enough room, so it's a matter of putting up some supports. Anyway, the N-75 has been a surprisingly fun little project. 73, Charles NK8O
