Bill,

Never mind what the doctor forgot to recommend, the truth is that a bit of cw passing through the earwax and into the brain just does wonders for the whole bod!

Plenty of QRN from a WX front that passed through last night was still around.  You were a less than robust 559 here and I copied your 339.  I promise that after the autumnal equinox a month hence both our sigs will be much better.

As for Mark, WQ8S, in Fenton, MI, his QRS 50-Watt sig was 589/599 here.  He gave you a 349 and you gave him a 229.  For an approximately 800-mile path, those signal reports seem very limp to me.

Charles (aka Chas), W2SH

With the aid of a bright light and a magnifying glass my 73 year old eyes found the numbers.

I purchased a Cricket 30 kit and discovered that 7 capacitors are not marked as shown in the assembly instructions. They are listed in the instructions as follows:

C1 - 270

C3 & C15 - 151

C4 - 221

C6 - 271

C10 & C18 - 181

What was shipped with the kit are as follows:

HC101 - 2 ea

K2J - 2 ea

K1J - 1 ea

K1K - 2 ea with different lead spacing

I can ass/u/me that the K1K's are C3 & C15 since the Builders notes state that 2 caps marked 151 have different lead spacing. I would rather know for sure.

I have not found any cross reference charts to assist me online. All is assembled except these 7 caps.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check pins 7, 20 and 21 on the 28-pin IC with respect to ground. Those pins should be at about 4.5V.  That confirms that the 5V regulator (U4) and D6 are working properly.

As far as making room reservations, there should be plenty of  availability in February 2019 to get a reservation. Prices would be similar to the past Ozarkcon. Exact prices are not set but we at 4SQRP do everything possible to keep attendance prices very low. That allows you to spend more dollars on your QRP rig wants :-)

I thought I had seen an announcement and a topic for this event but I'm not finding it.  So here it is.

Dates: September 7-9, 2018

Events: Nothing in particular.  Eyeball QSOs, sharing the latest toys with the other folks, delicious ribs if we are so blessed again this year, and generally a good time.  Some camping by camper, RV, or tent, is available if you are so inclined.

Also, does anyone want to post this event on Larry's List?  I can do this if no one else is motivated to do it.

John:

I'm not the official spokesperson for the 4SQRP club.  However, I can safely say that you are a bit premature.  People usually start asking about Ozarkcon around the beginning of the year and registration will likely open in the February time frame.  It will be announced on this reflector when registration opens, plus the website will be updated appropriately.  While a lot of us register as soon as registration opens, I doubt you'll have trouble getting a room as long as you register within a few weeks of the announcement.  If last year's prices are still listed, you can use them as a rough guide.  Again, I'm not the spokesperson on this, but they may not have even finalized the prices for 2019 yet.

It's good to see that people are already looking forward to another Ozarkcon!

I am planning on attending in 2019 and am wondering when registration will open and what are the costs involved. Also, what about the hotel, when should I make reservations so that I am assured of room availability?

Hello Chas

According to Tom Sevart these dates are correct.

Ron has posted the date on the web crawler.

We are trying to find a spot to include it on the activities page.

If you would like to post on Larry’s list,

It would be great.

Hope to see you there.
