I don't  usually say much on the reflector about just having radio fun, but i have to on this rig. It is just a blast, I worked a station in Maine with my Bayou Jumper and I am still smiling. I am using it with my Elecraft AF-1 as an audio filter, and I modified my EZ Keyer III, changing the BS 170 for an IRF 510 in straight key mode to get a sidetone. I also added a vernier tuning knob that Johnny AC0BQ suggested to me available on Amazon, and wow. listen for me on 120.1 from time to time I will be harvesting akcc numbers as best i can.

You know this will sound totally dumb but these are on of my favorite things in ham DIY in the world. Don't get me wrong - I love microcontrollers and all the neat stuff we have (I am a computer geek for a living after all). But there is just something about the mechanical "feel" of a Vernier dial. We need to figure out how to build them into encoders now. LOL.

Hi Gary,

After you get you L1 situated again, report back to us with your voltage readings, and supply current also if you can measure it.

How close to you is that broadcast station? Do you know what its assigned frequency is?

After checking for misplaced components, try replacing Q2, the MPF102 transistor.  I blew one simply by picking it up off the bench with a static discharge from my fingers while I was building my BS transceiver  ~~~~~~
They seem to "POP" real easy until they get installed into the system.~~~~~

Possibly something is amiss in audio stage. Make sure none of the electrlytic caps are backwards. Yes I have built a few regens that initially didn't work, of course it was builder error. Make sure also you didn't miss a solder connection. Its a journey hang in there.

It’s a little test jig that makes the crystal oscillate so you can hear it in your BJ receiver.
It helps you get zero beat.
