I worked AC2C during Novice Rig Roundup the other day. Great signal from his Bayou Jumper all the way down to Central Florida.

Sorry Chip - I had to QRT. I have been feeling sick. I DO hope we can have a QSO soon. I will be on that part of the band a lot with my little Drake 2NT / 2C station. I am hooked!!

For a while I could hear Bry AF4K in a long QSO, but I couldn't raise him after it seemed to be over.

What is your call sign?

I checked 7.030 and 7.0515 which I have xtals for, but they were well occupied already.

Have to go QRT now to pick up the XYL at the airport.

Always so much QRM here, at least for the wide passband of the BJ. Maybe being in Maine means I get more of that from Europe, but its really hard to pick out a CW signal!

Re: First qso

Jim Sheldon

Welcome to the Bayou Jumper ranks.  I'm working on interfacing a DDS VFO to mine.  Had to build a buffer amp but still need a tad more gain.  Only getting a bit over a half watt out with the DDS with an untuned buffer amp.  Going with a balanced output as soon as the special transformer gets here.  Circuit will drive the crystal socket on a Hallicrafters HT-42 so it should work on the BJ.

Here is another opportunity for Bayou Jumper ops and other QRP folks...

We have a friendly evening of activity starting this week - every

Monday evening mostly with older homebrew and novice type rigs, on 7100 - 7125 kHz.

Many are QRP and very few above about 45 watts. Good listeners.

It may be a good opportunity for QRP friends to join the fun.

Hope to see some of you on there!
