Exact Bayou Jumper Crystal Frequency?

Hello,
I realize there will be some variations - but what frequency are y'all showing for the color-burst xtals in the Crickets - so I can listen for Crickets in my shack. Sam Neal N5AF Celebrating 60 Years In Amateur Radio

Rev A Bayou Jumper
Well, I got a couple of those little Bunnell 6B "Baby" keys from Western
Union test sets in this morning. First thing I did was remove the PC board built-in key and install the Bunnell on the Rev A BJ. Looks decent and really works well. The + terminal's screw was actually long enough that I used a couple of nuts, one above the main PC board and one below to make the connection between the Bunnell and the "Key" terminal screw hole after removing the standoff that had originally been the fixed contact. The ground, of course is through the mounting bolt at the rear of the Bunnell key (had to drill a hole for that one and scrape silkscreen ink on the bottom to make good ground contact). The original PC board key works pretty well, but the Bunnell 6B is MUCH smoother to operate and a bit easier to send good CW with. The second Bunnell 6B got mounted on a piece of Blue Corian (yup, same material they make dishes out of) that I got from Knifemaker Supply. I'm waiting on some small rubber feet that will be here Saturday to complete it. Jim - W0EB

Hi Wayne ! I heard you call CQ 4S and tried to call you several times. Your signal was about 339, here in central NC. I finally gave up when the SSB QRM got really bad. I wanted you to know that your signal was being heard....will try again next week. 72, WD4LNW Doug Reid

FYI folks, please assume that there will be a 40m net on 7.122 unless I e-mail otherwise. I will not e-mail net reminders on Wednesdays. I will try and be there on a weekly basis unless something comes up and I can't attend in which case I'll try and find a substitute NCS. It is usually the case that I will know my availability for that evening early on on the day so there will be plenty of notice. I hate dumping NCS duty on someone with only a couple of hours notice. I am not going to take the summer off this year, circumstances have changed and I expect to be available for a goodly number of Wednesday evenings throughout the rest of the year. As I say, if I can't make it I'll e-mail the list in good time. Otherwise, assume that the net will be functioning at the usual time in the usual place. If you can please monitor QRPSpots because I usually announce the net about 5 minutes before kick-off there. About 80m. I'm not sure I can call the 80m net every week, or even once a month so if some other brave soul would like to volunteer to call the 80m net then please step forward, it would be greatly appreciated. 72/3 es be blessed all, Wayne - NQ0RP QRP - EFFICIENCY AND SKILL, NOT POWER.

Cricket thots
Curt
Just ordered a Cricket so can join the colorburst army. The coils on the pcb are unique, wonder if a 40M version might be in the future? Alternately, maybe hacking the pcb to disconnect from the existing inductors would facilitate putting the cricket on 40M?
Now I need to contemplate what to use for an 80M antenna. Maybe change my edz to an 80M dipole. 72, Curt KB5JO

Re: Net Tonight??
w2sh@...
Well the skip on 40m was long. ACØBQ was 599 on peaks (QSB was deep but very brief and fully readable throughout). QRN in NJ was less than on 80m where I heard nothing around 3.564 mHz, nor on 3.580 mHz where I have yet to hear my first Cricket.
A loud K5MP called Johnny but no QSO of any consequence resulted; perhaps due to a sterile skip zone. After both signed, I connected with K5MP. Mike, in FL, gave me 579 and he was 589/599 here. Turned out that he was QRP with 5W. He gave me a # which he later said was a SKCC #. He is not a 4SQRP member, but seems a good candidate for a Wayne-o-gram, especially after reading his interesting QRZ entry.
