Russellville, Arkansas hamfest this weekend

Hey folks,

If you’ve got some time and it’s not too far, drop in on our hamfest this Saturday.  This is our 25th and we usually have a pretty decent one.

We’re moving to a new, larger venue.  Some nice prizes and admission still only $5.00.

Some info here:

... and click the hamfest 2017 link / drop-down.

OK, a pretty box. But I don't understand why you provided this link,
with absolutely no explanation.
What am I supposed to be able to do with it ?

PS - I must confess - In general, I HATE email that provides nothing but a
link, with no supporting text that provides some kind of clue as to why
its significant.

Ed,

If you want to obtain a panadapter display from the KX3 RX IQ output of
the KX3, get a soundcard that is capable of at least 96K bandwidth, 192k
is better.  Yes, the input must be stereo for RX IQ to work.

At 192kHz, there will be some falloff at the edges, but that is normal
for the KX3.  Note that the PX3 compensates for that falloff.

A low noise soundcard is important.  Look at the soundcard information
on www.telepostinc.com for comparisons.

At 192kHz, there will be some falloff at the edges, but that is normal
for the KX3.  Note that the PX3 compensates for that falloff.

A low noise soundcard is important.  Look at the soundcard information

Hi Don - Yes I've looked at the soundcard data on telepostinc but I think it must be out of date.  Several of the USB devices he has listed seem to NOT have STEREO inputs.

Thus my dilemma.

I see people who are doing exactly what I want to do say to use a $6 Sabrent device, but the specs on those all say MONO mic input.

Again - delimma.

Thanks & 73,

Griffin makes a tiny stereo sound card interface that lets you output the RX/IQ to an iPhone or IPad.  There are several videos on the web.
To be honest the PX3 is much more useful.  The PX3 is expensive.  You don't need a PX3 unless you use the KX3 as a primary station rig.  I have taken the PX3 on solo DXpeditions with the KXPA but I am running a hundred watts and not QRP.

I have used the KX3 with NaP3 but the laptop needs to have stereo mic input.

Does anyone have one of the weighted tuning knobs from 73CNC for the K1 you'd be willing to part with for the right price? Their website has indicated for some time that it's out of stock and I haven't received a reply to my email. It may be discontinued. I've had one on my K2 for about three years and love it. Let me say that I've seen this discussed on the KX3 group and no one seems to have a answer that holds water.  Maybe the guys asking the questions just didn't make it clear (to what I'm looking for...)

used. Originally sold for $149.95 and currently selling on Ham Radio
Outlet for $129.95. It normally does not come with the USB A-B cable,
has an SMA antenna connector and there are a number of different, free,
downloadable software packages that will run it. The most popular (and
now being included with it) is SDR Uno. The RSP1 covers 10KHz to 2GHz
and is very sensitive. It's a great monitoring package and with a
laptop is also very portable. It's powered via the USB cable.

I'll sell this one for $110 shipped anywhere in the US and will include
a USB A-B cable, an SMA to BNC female antenna adapter and a CD I burned
containing SDR UNO and the operating manual for it.

If interested, please reply direct to w0eb@cox.net not via the
reflector. First "I'll take it" (by date/time of incoming email) will
get the right to buy it.
