Re: Anyone running JT65HF - couple of questions - Uncle Phil

Rich Kennedy

Phil,

I keep Dimension 4 running on my computer all the time.  It is a timing program that keeps the computer updated constantly and makes my JT65 timing seamless. My clock is always dead on.  It runs in the background and does automatic updates on the time every 30 minutes.  I know lots of stations running this for their timing needs.

Phil,

Is your computer clock/date set correctly?
Is the computer set to the correct time zone?
If your computer is a day ahead of time, can it tell the future?:-)

Final SSS Reminder

John Lonigro

This is your final reminder that the September Second Sunday Sprint (SSSS) will be held this coming Sunday, from 7:00-9:00 CDT (0000-0200 UTC Monday). As always, complete rules, suggested frequencies, and logging website are all at www.qrpcontest.com/4sqrp.

It's your final reminder because I'll be involved in several different activities starting tomorrow and will likely forget (or not have time) to send any further reminders. Also, I'll be dragging Monday morning, so try to remember to log your results as soon as possible after the contest. I'll try to get my act together by Wednesday morning to report the results and generate the September winner certificate. And, as with last month, if you listen for at least 15 minutes during the contest, please submit your entry, even if your total is 0 QSO points. I'm still trying to see how many people participate each month.

Remember, although we are keeping track of cumulative scores for the overall 2916 winner, each month, the person with the most QSO points for that month gets a certificate and recognition for his fine performance.

John, AA0VE

There should be some pictures of Brutus on the 4sqrp web page. Brutus is a retired strip mine shovel that sits south of Pittsburg Ks. He is about 600 ft to the top of the boom... Sadly we can not go that high wouldn't that make a wonderful antenna perch! Terry and Bart started the Brutus Bash several years ago as another 4state gathering. Thats about aLL I know. Brutus Bash is this weekend and there will be some camping and lots of eating and eyeball qsos and some on air qsos with the club call WQ5RP. It will be a blast!
