Re: 4SQRP nets

Yup,
It certainly seems that the 4SQRP nets have morphed from their long summer vacation into an autumnal hibernation. 'Bout all the regular 4S CW activity that remains is the once-monthly Second Sunday Sprint, and that alas is lightly attended.
Tell me it ain't really so.

I was trying out my new to me KX1... it is pretty sweet. I used a 28 ft hunk of wire in the trees and a 16 ft counterpoise and it loaded on 20, 30 and 40. Two contacts were on 40 and one was on 20. Pretty fun. When are the nets going to start up. 80 is just a dull roar tonight but I believe it could be worked. What say you? de Paul N0NBD

N0A action
W0IIT
Well, there wasn’t much action but I did manage to hand out N0A to three 4State ops KV6Z, AF5AF, and Darryl. Condx were very tuff to say the least but many thanks for these guys for hanging in there for me.
I might active N0A on 20 meters later this afternoon after my nap or tomorrow on 20. I will post here if I do that. I know other folks were working hard at making a contact with N0A but I just couldn’t pull you out of the noise. Thanks for trying. cu es 72, Bart W0IIT Pittsburg, KS

Another attempt on 40 meters.
W0IIT
Hi Gang,
My two hour run on 7,122khz last night was pretty much a bust. I wanted to work as many 4State members as I could as I activated N0A. I am going to give it another shot and will be on 7,030+/-qrm from 16:30 to 1730—11:30 to 12:30 local time. I had several 4staters trying to work me last night but no joy. 40 was very long and my signal was very weak(I didn’t get very many returns on the RBN). I think 40meters will be much shorted and I think7,030khz will give me a shot at many other QRP types(I hope:-). If i do succeed in working you, you can find the QSL info on NAQCC's home site. This SP Event call was issued in celebration of the NAQCC’s 12th anniversary. cu es 72, Bart w0iit Pittsburg, KS 4Sqrp=#72, FP=#11, ARS=#568, SKCC=1139, NAQCC=#588 FIST=#5819, Zombie=#500, Geratol=#1000

Thanks for the recommendation and eBay link. I just purchased a set. Was worth the extra few bucks to get them faster, from a supplier in the US. Looking forward to adding them to the tool collection here!
