Re: 40 AND 80 METER CW NETS
I heard Johnny loud at first and then he faded away. but thanks for the report and the net. I am getting more comfortable. The NM station was very loud! Wayne N9EGT Western Colorado

40m no sigs better than R4. 80m AA9AA was 579; all others R4 or below. Not a good night in NJ. Nice to see Bob, WB1GYZ, made a QNI.

I just joined QRP-L a couple days ago. Got the approval within a few hours. Someone must be running it now.

Re: 40 and 80 meter nets
Hello Chas I thought I caught a whisper of your call but that’s all I heard! Last nights signals were strange. Not much noise but terrible QSB. I went out this morning and checked to see if I had a antenna leg on the ground!! Hope next week will be better. 72 Johnny ACØBQ

Hi Paul,w
Just got an email from Chuck with details on his rig, ant and results on 17m. RE: chuck adams <chuck.adams.k7qo@...>

Look at www.k7qo.com and the WAS and DXCC maps. Worked Russia,
Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico and Australia this week with 4W using the KitsAndParts 5W-17. Running 4W with 14V on the power supply. Rotatable Dipole at 7 meters. I'm on both mornings and later from Phoenix(Sun City) in the afternoon when the band is in good shape. SF=75 gives good results. Spot me on the Reverse Beacon Network. Chuck

Yes, that was me on 80m. Johnny was only 449/559 and I had lots of QRN. I did hear WBØCFF at 559 when he checked in. Glad to learn that I was heard a kilomile away. No sigs at all were heard on 40m.

I heard him quite well in Louisburg, but obviously Lebo was something of a dead zone for him. Along the same lines, I could barely hear some of the checkins from my QTH. 72, Chas - NK8O On 10/14/20 8:59 PM, Johnny AC0BQ wrote:

heard on 17 meters
Paul Goemans
Hello gang,
I just heard the legendary Chuck Adams K7QO work 4A50CRH on 17 meter
CW. I assume he was QRP! FYI Chuck originated the long-running QRP-L email list
reflector that I joined in 1994. A great incubator of earlier QRP design, clubs
and on-air events. That list continues today under different sponsorship. Is
anyone here on that list? It seems to be rudderless as I have tried to rejoin
several times over the past few years and get no response from the moderator.

Johnny, Thanks for trying to pull me out of the noise on 80m. I was running mobile in Clinton,OK (90 mi west of OKC on I-40 using an FT-817ND at 5 watts. Surprised you even heard me. :-)
40M net was not heard at all however, Chas NK8O and I had a good Q on 7122. 579/579. 72, Steve WB5CTS/M 4states # 176
