Hi Ron,

Did you find one yet? I have an unopened kit that I got at Ozarkcon last
year that I probably will not get to for quite a while. Too many irons in
the fire.

73, Jim K0ESE

I Am looking for the Hilltopper 40 in working order or in a kit.
Thanks for letting me in the group.

Please use the instructions that came with the kit.  There were major improvements to the kit design about 3 years ago, and the new revision has a lot of different parts.

I bought the kit at the 2019 OzarkCon in Branson. It has BNC connectors instead of RCA connectors.

GA Ross,

yes, please! No, I don't have a set price. But I would rather buy a 5Watter and 2 QCX and a BitX20 for $ 250 than a OHR 500 for $ 250. More bang for the buck kinda thinking.

Hi All

greetings from Dhaka. Most ops have a Chinese made H-T. HF is rare and I only found a single CW op, who has been living imn Finland.

- Hilltopper 20 (if no one sells it, when can we expect for it to besold again)
- a 40 m Receiver - you guys used to sell one.
- QCX transceiver & '5Watter' (40 or 20 for both)
- SSB transceiver, be that a BitX20 or something which is good.

CONUS shipping and I do have Paypal and through a friend, an online payment could be arranged, too.

Am hoping for a fair deal as the local guys are usually struggling financially (many are freelance engineers). No, few are on the normal $ 2 a day salaries paid in the textile industry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y9UaLKbZQ0

I'd check the connections to the encoder (tuning control) to see if something is not right.

However, having just completed the construction, I was surprised to discover several issues.
The facts:
First, and most importantly, the receiver opens with the no 75 message and defaults to the frequency. Unfortunately, it only tunes 3.839 to 3.840 (the default frequency) and no other frequencies. I cannot select any other frequency.
Second, depressing the tune button does not dim the display (not a big concern) but it does allow me to bring up the 1.901 or 1.902 setting.
Third, the LED does dim with a strong signal present as from a signal generator.
Fourth, I do have audio from the speaker and headphone jack.
My question is what may be the cause of limited frequency selection?
In advance, thanks!

Re: QRPoMeter

nm0s_qrp <ai9e_qrp@...>

So the important question is, do you have a new (NM0S) kit, or an old (4SQRP) kit?  The 4SQRP kits came with RCA connectors.  The old kit used ceramic monolithic capacitors, and included an 0.001u for C3, while the new kits use ceramic disks, and C3 is 0.1u.  The instructions are very different between the two versions.

Nicely made.
I took a similar approach on my QCX. A 2 piece case.

It doesn't apply here but for outdoor use use white if possible.

Been using Fusion 360 for 3 years.

Not long after the 2019 Ozarkcon someone suggested that owners of 3D printers in the club submit a sort of “show and tell” regarding their experience with 3D printing. Several members complied.

I was dealing with a health issue at the time (at my present age of 91.3 years that happens a bit more often than when I got my ham license in 1952) and I never got around to writing. I have had a 3D printer - two, actually, but one cratered - for several years and have designed and printed a wide variety of things, many just for fun, others for practical application.

The 3D printed upper and lower parts of my loop antenna were on display in the flea market at Ozarkcon. Very few people were interested in the loop and so the 3D parts mostly went unnoticed.

I recently developed a simple but effective 3D printed rack for my KX3/PX3 combo that lets me more clearly see their faces from a comfortable seated position. Several photos that show the thing in use and also in its bare bones are embedded in this message.

If you have a 3D printer with at least a 9” X 9” build plate and the same Elecraft setup as I have and would like to print a rack for your own use, please email me OFF-LIST and I will send you the several required .STL files at no charge.
