Luncheon Gathering on Saturday
David Bixler <qrp@...>
Hi folks:
This is your reminder that the November 4SQRP luncheon gathering is this upcoming Saturday, Nov 15th, at the Country Cupboard restaurant in downtown Seneca, MO. Lunch is at 11:00. http://www.4sqrp.com/CountryCupboard.html It's that time of the year when we need to watch the weather. Saturday's forecast is calling for snow, but only .09 inches. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=pws:MKEOS 73 and safe driving! Dave W0CH (I hate winter!)

From the far north, comes the cry.....
Dale Putnam
Well.. pretty much like that..
After feeding the horses, and breaking the ice in the tank.. (that was interesting... how'd it get that thick.. in one night?) and while walking back to the house.. having my mustache freeze icicles.. I decided that I could look at the thermometer... now I feel really cold... at least until the wood stove got going.. What was it reading? a minus 14.. is all.. but have no fear... it is warming right up now... clear up to a minus three in just 5 hours... far cry from the fall a few days ago.. from 56 to 6 in a couple hours... Why, does the thermometer always seem to fall faster than it rises? Anyway.. I am kinda happy to be sitting at the bench with the equipment warming up and the soldering iron too. Have a great day, --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy

Retired kits
WA0ITP
After a long and successful run, the QRPOmeter has been retired . The timing was right as the last run has been sold down to 2 kits and a few components. The extra kits will be saved for OzarkCon prizes. Many thanks to K8MEG, RIch Fowler for kitting the QRPometer.
Also the NS-40 has been retired. This is our longest running and perhaps most successful kit, over 600 have been sold. Thanks to Paul Smith, N0NBD for the kitting it, its been a long haul. But wait, there's more! We still have 8 or so NS-40s left and Four Staters get first chance at them. Dave Cripe, NM0S, has been lugging them to various hamfest in Iowa and these are left over. These are being sold at a discount to Four Staters only. So this is the last chance to obtain this classic Class E transmitter. If you want one, send a note to Dave with your address and send a check, or use Paypal's Send Money option, for $25 to our new Treasurer Tom Brown, W0MFQ. Tom is good on QRZ.com Thank you for supporting our kit sales. OzarkCon wouldn't be the success it is without them. -- 72 WAITP I love this radio stuff. www.wa0itp.com wa0itp@wa0itp.com www.4sqrp.com

Certainly my best SSS so far. A thrill to work Wayne, as I have NEVER been able to check in to the Wed night nets from my QTH! Maybe this will be the week?
Bill, KV6Z, thank you for hanging in there with my attempts at a QSO. Heard you well enough I was sure you should be able to copy me J
Normally, my only SSS contact is with Gary, KF7WNS, in Oregon. He didn’t disappoint on this sprint, but blew my ear buds out with a 40 over signal from near Yosemite, about 85 miles from my qth.
Fun event.
