Well I thought after working Terry in a recent event at 599 both ways I was sure the 4sQRP net was going to be a piece of cake.....Well on the 40m net tonight Johnny was solid 579 when he answered me. I made my comment and heard nary a dit after that. I could tell he was there after that but the band just shot me down again. Nice signal though Johnny!! My ears just fell off at the end.

I booked my site too. I told her I wanted a camp site for the weekend of, uh... couldn't remember the date, when she said "September 13 & 14?" I said, "Yeah, that's it!" Apparently she'd been making a lot of bookings for that weekend.
I got lucky site #7. -- Tom Sevart N2UHC St. Paul, KS

Re: /mm this morning
Perhaps a call or e-mail directly to the FCC could provide a
definitive answer.
Over the years, I have contacted them with questions, or clarifications, and found them more than happy to offer help and find the correct answer. I have only had one negative experience with the FCC in 49 years. It is a long and complicated story ( it did not involve any infractions or complaints ). I was dealing with a brand new employee with about a week on the job and it was in a fairly technical issue related to an Experimental License grant. She was not able to speak or write English fluently. One day I will visit the issue again, with some more experienced person. Charlie, W5COV On 8/19/2014 6:17 PM, CStratton

Re: RMRc
I was listening from 22:30 and "NO JOY IN MUDVILLE" struck out. Heard one very weak signal down 500 HZ but thats all. Had a nice 10 minute with OK1MV and got 579 on my 5 watts. So 20 is real funny today. No loud signals.
Will keep listening other days. Don HC4/W4BWS

Chip, AE5KA Wow! You are SO very right ! Not /MM but merely /M So maybe Bill could eliminate the lack of FCC compliance by sending "KV6Z/mm" with the tag in lower case ? just like the way he signed off his posting. Glen Ellis, KK4LPG

Heard you this morning on SRN. You were about the third QNI. I usually just listen to the easy chatter, trying to "read" the code, sharpen my brain, and might check-in way late. Glen Ellis, KK4LPG

KV6Z //mm
I realize that you will be signing KV6Z/mm for some long time coming. Could maybe be abbreviated to "CQ de KV6Z/iiatfkoloaihagtdgi" making it easier to send with a Straight Key strapped to a paddle. Guess that means that you use a fixed dipole, on a rotating tower ? My old memory is fading, but I really do recall log entries and QSL/emails from these: * Have contacted another Ham, in a Kayake, have his QSL card here somewhere. He was something /MM ? Think it was Montana. * How about the contact I have with a ham in his Piper Cub plane, missing a right foot. He was something /MA ? Crossing Tennessee. * Then there is the triple QSO in a two hour 18 wheel truck driving session, in mountains. He was something /MT ? Crossing from Tennessee into North Carolina. * There is a contest held in Winter, on an Ice Cold Lake . Received a QSL card from him. He was something /MM . . Which all points up the importance of getting this Pre/Suf tag thing right. Before we get a letter from the FCC. Maybe another from the Irish or English authorities. . In the meantime, I just have a few watts into a Long-Wire. Glen Ellis, KK4LPLG

20 has been strange here this afternoon, lots of QSB and lots of
rapid switches between stateside and the DX stations.
Can't hear you here in OK today either. Charlie, W5COV On 8/19/2014 5:08 PM, Dale Putnam

I called as loud as I could.. had three maybe four stations attempt to check in..
I'd answer each one.. call them a couple times, but no one would answer. I'm thinking the qsb was slow and deep... I'm still there, if you wan to try again? Have a great day, --... ...-- Dale - WC7S in Wy
