So how did he get up an 80m loop (at 77 ft) in KH6? Real estate is at a premium out that way . . .

Cyclone Scores Hawaii
WA0ITP
I'm happy to report that tonight at 0157z I worked our own Steve Hutcherson,
WB5CTS, who was on Maui. The freq was 7122 and we both were weak but had a solid contact. Steve was using a DSW-40 and a 80M loop at 77 feet and I was on my Cyclone and normal 111' wire which slopes up to ~50 feet at the far end. Needless to say the band was looong. Woo Hoo! ---------------------------------- Back to the bench, Winter's too valuable to waste. I love this radio stuff ! 72 WA0ITP www.wa0itp.com www.4sqrp.com

Second Sunday Sprint (SSS)
John Lonigro
This is a preliminary announcement of this month's Second Sunday Sprint, January 12, 2014 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm CST. I'm John, AA0VE, your new sprint coordinator. I'll typically send out reminders on the Thursday and Saturday preceding the sprint. Then I'll send out reminders to get your results to me before the Wednesday following the sprint. I may be the new contest coordinator, but the SSS rules will be remarkably similar to those Walter came up with. Hard to beat perfection (hi).
I'll send out the normal reminders and more details later this week, if my keyboard doesn't freeze up. Thanks to the miracle of email forwarding, you'll still send your results to SecondSundaySprint@4sqrp.com and I should receive them. Results should include your name, call, and total number of QSOs. I'd ask for band info, but I don't have that data for the November or December sprints. You can include it if you wish, but it probably won't be used for now. Maybe later. Remember, the lucky person with the largest cumulative number of QSOs for the November (2013) through September (2014) sprints gets to use the club callsign during the October 4x4 sprint. The score for the most recent sprint as well as the cumulative standings will be reported via this reflector on the Wednesday following each sprint. 72, John AA0VE

Otherwise known as the freeze-delayed ground wave effect (FDGWE). Perhaps a new area of research we could take up in 4SQRP? de KC0PET, Rick
