I have to applogize the those wanting to check into the net this morning. I overslept, woke up abt 7:45 and raced off at 8 to meet some folks for breakfast. In the rush, I completely forgot about the net. ()&%^*&^()

Wednesday evening 40m nets

Wayne Dillon

Hi Gang,
Fist an apology, I was looking forward to doing the late net again but the WX did not co-operate. 40m was very noisy so I can only imagine what 80 was like!
I'll do the report when I get home this evening as I forgot to bring the thumb drive with me this morning, too much else going on at 04:00. Good news is we managed 6 of 7 contacts before I had to pull the plugs.
I'm hoping for better WX next week and if so I will definitely run the late net as I know some of have other commitments which preclude your participation in the early net.
More later.

Here in NJ Terry, Bill, Jim and Nick were all 449 or slightly better.  Steve and John were both about 599 + 10dB.

I dropped my callsign when each of the last three QNIs signed, and then again after Terry's CQs up until he said "QRT" at 0126Z.  No luck.

The Stonecaste is all set up and waiting for us.

The Stonehenge room is ready for the presentations, the free Saturday noon lunch, the Banquet and the private breakfasts. I ate lunch the deli that catering the Saturday lunch, and the sandwiches are on par with some of the best I've ever eaten.

The knights room is setup with 23 tables for vendors, hamfest, swappers, and the Homebrew and Wackey Key contests. All ready for some horse trading.

Excaliber awaits the Friday night build session, if you havent heard, this year's kit is a FB regen receiver by Dave Crip. Dave is flying in from a business conference for OzarkCon, talk about committment!

The Lancelot room is set up for a ladies knitting workshop led by Sarah Smith, N0TKO. Beginners or experienced knitters are welcome Friday night and all day Saturday

No worries on the weather, rain tmrrw but fb wx the rest of the week thru the weekend - it never rains on OzarkCon. Look for our banner in the lobby, it will be hanging in front of the registration booth. Go there to pick up your registration packet. Cu on Friday!

Now for the 80M net report. Talk about bad condx. WOW!!!! My noise level was so loud that some static crashes caused the rig to completely block for a couple or 3 seconds. The rest of the time they were loud enough to be painful, and that was with an external speaker! Sri I know I missed several signals that were way down in the noise. Making it in were:

Terry,
I think you had my call as K8CQT when I called you on 40 just before the early net.  Your signal was booming in when I first heard you; I was clear across the house and it was very clear copy ... but by the time I got to the rig, sigs were down.
The contact on 80 later was rough, but it was my first contact with the new 185 ft longwire.
All in all, you were doing quite well with your portable wahr from Branson!
Wish I could be there, but will be working and taking good care of Jane, KC8IEE, who is having some health problems right now.  Maybe another year ...

I arrived at the Stonecastle at 3 this afternoon, and had a meeting with staff shortly thereafter. They have recently changed some of their procedures and it was good that we had a face to face meeting.

I've been making contacts tonight with a 84' wahr from the 3rd floor out to a tree in the rear parking lot. It loads well on 80 and 40, Great fun.

It loads well on 80 and 40, so I plan to call the Wed nite 3564 net as well as the Thurs Morn 7122 net from the hotel room.

Paul and Sarah are arriving tmmrrw and between us we'll make sure everything is ready for OzarkCon this weekend.

Branson looks the same, most shows are up and running as are many, if not most, of the museums, the local landmark restaurants are open, and the town is waking up for the summer. Traffic isnt heavy at all yet, I drove from the East end of the strip to the West end abt suppertime with no delays at all.

Hope to work you on the nets and looking for you on Friday too.

Wed Nite Nets

WA0ITP

The Four State QRP Comfortable nets meet each Wednesday night
beginning at 7:30 PM Central Time.

Note: I will be doing the 80M net from my room at the Stonecastle in Branson. The antenna is an 84' wahr out to a tree in the parking lot. It loads fine on 80 so we should be able to make it. I'm hoping for a good turnout for this pre Ozarkon net from the OzarkCon site.

Also Note: Tonight Wayne is firing up the 7:30 the for the Summer

If we have to QSY, I like to move up, Wayne likes to move down,
and Dick doesn't have to move much at all.

Add anything to the exchange that you wish, temp rig, ant, etc.
Checking into all, sessions is encouraged. We call it the "Clean Sweep".

7:30 Central time ... 40M CW Net on 7122, KCØPMH NCS
8:00 " " ... 80M CW Net on 3564, WAØITP NCS.
8:30 " " ... 40M CW Net on 7122, KCØPMH NCS
9:00 " " ... 80M PSK Net on 3580.5, NØTGR NCS

All are welcome! After the nets, a list of checkins will be
posted on the Four State reflector.
