New QRPspots.com Page

WA0ITP

QRPspots.com has a great new look. Recently the page has shown spam activity,
not much, but enough to warrant an attempt to eliminate the possibility of
future nefarious activity.

Thanks to Marshall Dias, WOTM, the page has a new look and an increased
resistance to influences outside the normal ham activities. It was time for an
update since original page has been in existance for over 5 yesrs and has had
over 368,700 visits.

Please check the new page out here and post with confidence.

Updated Volunteer List

WA0ITP

A problem with generating a list is that someone who shouldn't be, is almost always overlooked.  I missed Rich Fowler's wife Helene, W8MEG, who has expended much effort kitting the SAVXO and QRPometer, sri Helene.   An updated list is below.

Thurs Morning Net - New Time

WA0ITP

This Four State net meets each Thursday morning at 8:00 AM Central on 7122 kc,
the Four State 40M hangout frequency. NCS is WAITP and this is a Four State
members only net. Note that 8AM is a new time.

Add anything to the exchange that you wish, member number, temp, rig, ant, etc.
After the net, a list of checkins will be posted on the Four State reflector.

Hope to cu tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM Central time.

Wed Nite Nets

WA0ITP

The Four State QRP Comfortable nets meet each Wednesday night
beginning at 7:30 PM Central Time. Wayne has discontinued the
8:30 40M net due to band condx at that time. He begin calling it
in a few weeks.

If we have to QSY, I like to move up, Wayne likes to move down,
and Dick doesn't have to move much at all.

Add anything to the exchange that you wish, temp rig, ant, etc.
Checking into all, sessions is encouraged. We call it the "Clean Sweep".

7:30 Central time ... 40M CW Net on 7122, KCPMH NCS
8:00 " " ... 80M CW Net on 3564, WAITP NCS.
9:00 " " ... 80M PSK Net on 3580.5, NTGR NCS

All are welcome! After the nets, a list of checkins will be
posted on the Four State reflector.

Yep, just read the results from Sunday and I was right.  Everyone was watching TV while I was calling CQ.  I was using Zulu time you all were using
local time.  Well, I missed an hour of the sprint,  but we still have six more sprints.

Til next month, Gary

Pending any corrections, I'm enclosing the results from this month's
Second Sunday Sprint. This month, we had 12 participants, which was a
fine showing. Bill, KV6Z, had the most, with 15 QSOs, followed by
Terry, WA0ITP, with 13. The cumulative results so far show Bill, KV6Z,
with 30 QSOs, followed by Terry, WA0ITP, with 24. Gary, KF7WNS, is in
third place, with 14 QSOs. There is plenty of time left (6 more
sprints) before the winner for 2014 is declared. Keep those fists pounding!

As always, if you see a discrepancy in your score, please let me know
and I'll correct it.

Weather report: Monday, the temperature was around 72 in St. Louis.
Yesterday, it was over 80. Today, it is 35, with flurries a few miles
west of here. Three seasons in 3 days!

An earlier email mentioned our volunteers, and that prompted me to list the many Four State Volunters.  These folks spend many hours to make the conference possible. All work together in harmony to create and spend club proceeds, create and sell kits, make conference arrangements, and rush to handle last minute issues.  They are very deserving of  your thanks so when you see them in Branson pse say hello and thank them for their service to the organization.  If you would like to join this list, please mention that to anyone on the list and they will ensure that you are put in contact with someone who can put your talents to work for the good of the club.  Giving back creates a feeling of belonging that you can't get any other way.  The current list of volunteers is below, I really hope I didn't forget someone, if so I apologize in advance.  Pse end me a note so I can add you to the list.  The current list of volunteers is:

As many of you already know, the AC4.6 (N3FLP) software is really neat. I've got it running and uploading
to both LOTW and eQSL. I found eQSL easier to install than LOTW (which is institutionalized, of course). But it is
finally working. It was those ity bitty detaila THAT MATTER ! HI.
