Hello Bob
Your are correct.
It’s a Ham club that made up of Shriners.
It’s held at the Shrine Temple in KC.
I thinks it’s Arart Shrine Temple.

It’s a fun Hamfest!

I will buy any/all of this type of kit. Every time I visit the grand kids I take something electronic for them to build.  They love their Papa and his fun stuff.

circuitry that is built on a real prototype board with plug-in wire
jumpers. The  Astable Multivibrator circuit is actually a 2 LED

for us serious builders but folks have to start somewhere..Right?

The project is part of the 4SQRP Education program that is
dedicated to helping keep our great radio hobby growing

The first kit is the design genius of Bill - KV6Z and he is
already working on the next kit. We will have more
information on the 2nd kit later in the year.

We would like to know your opinions of the kit at Ocon
so we can tailor this kit for release at super reasonable

God Bless folks like you.  I tremble at the thought of giving a prepared speech.  At our hospital we had a great pathologist who would meet with us at lunch time.  No matter what the question he kept us enthralled at the black board explaining some esoteric facet of medicine........ also kept our minds off the standard hospital fare we were eating.  Wish there were more like him today.

I was once asked to speak at a conference (I am an award winning e-commerce expert) with 10 minutes notice because the person that was supposed to speak did not show up. When I asked why I was picked, I was told I was the only one there that could pull it off with 10 minutes notice (got the best seminar reviews of the conference). At another conference I was asked to be on a panel discussion because of a no show, but I had a two hour notice to do that one. So  I know the trials and tribulations of putting these things on. There are never any hiccups or issues. :)

Learning KiCad at Ozarkcon

Walter - K5EST

Hi Everyone, at Ozarkcon this year is a really great chance to learn how to use
KiCad for making professional PCB layouts and 3D printing for your cabinets for radio gear!

KiCad works for SMD or THT components, ground planes, and lots of other great features. KiCad is as easy to use for schematic capture, PCB layout and it even gives a 3D rendering of the assembled board. PCB are easy to order direct from China. Download KiCad (see below) and bring along your pc; we'll work on a project together.

KiCad now has a push and shove router which is capable of routing differential pairs and interactively.
tuning trace lengths.

3D printing is a very cool new technology that kids are learning in middle and high school to make small cabinets, paddles for keyers, etc.  Download and install FreeCad to follow along. Working with 3D is not as difficult at you think.

Barry Buelow - WØIY has 2 time sections of learning this great software for
us at Ozarkcon. Bring your laptops to follow along with the presentations.

You can download KiCad for free at http://kicad-pcb.org/

What computer OS do you use? Can I use my computer?
Here is the page that gives the info: http://kicad-pcb.org/download/
AND for you Chromebook owners, yes it is possible to run KiCad,

Will KiCad get me away from dead-bug construction? Well, it sure has
a good chance of me changing my ancient ways :-)

Here is a link to FreeCad:      https://www.freecadweb.org/

See you all at Branson.......it's gonna be fun!

Good afternoon Walter,
I’m not sure if you are the right person to take care of this, but I figured that if you
were not you would know who was.

I have made arrangements for the Branson DMR repeater 444.450+, Color
Code 5 to have the 4SQRP DMR talkgroup 31654 static on Time Slot 1 from
April 3rd until April 9th to facilitate communications among the attendees that
are into DMR. The repeater is located about ½ mile away and will have
excellent handheld coverage inside the Stone Castle resort.

Could you help get this information widely advertised so people will know it is available.

Let me know if you have any questions

Hmmm. .  . . DMR . . .
Isn't that where you use a specifically equipped radio, on a specific frequency, with specific coding, specific color banding, at a specific time slot, using a specific password for the hallway, and having passed the retina scan station at the gate, decoding the room number, using the secret knock at the doorway, given the password and secret handshake to the guard, questioning as to the whereabouts of the person to whom you wish to speak, to find out they are not in that particular room at this exact time . . . and " but please try later, as your call is important to us".
Did I miss anything?   :-)

Yes! And here’s the secret handshake:

- 444.450+
- Color Code 5
- Time Slot 1
- Talk Group 31654
