QRP Propagation?
Curt, I'm finding 10 and 12 meters weak as well. Given the SSN and SFI I keep expecting 10 and 12 to really open up, but keep meeting with disappointment. 15 and 17 are usually good. 20 meters is Grea

Larry, My first guess is the counterpoise wire is too long. Based on your description it sounds like you built an Off-center Fed Dipole for 4.875 MHz. Try shortening your counterpoise to 3 feet and ch

Long wire
Doc, N9PUZ's advice is very good. I will add these things based on personal experience. Bringing the wire all the way in to the radio will work well for receiving. The problem comes with transmitting.

Cricket 80
Some members of ARRL's Amateur Radio Direction Finding committee have been working with an original 4SQRP 80 meter cricket as a possible transmitter to use in 80 meter direction finding applications.

Private: Re: [4SQRP] 80 meter Cricket instructions
Ron, Thanks for fixing the link so quickly. Jerry, WB8WFK said he was able to get the instructions as soon as you fixed the link. He has the 80 meter Cricket built, tested, and has already worked out

I gave one of my un-built 80 meter Original Cricket transceivers kits to another ham. He reported the instructions on the 4SQRP website are for the newer version; the one that uses a keying transistor

4S-Tuner SWR Red LED
I'm at work so I don't have time to look at the schematic but from the description it sounds like the current limiting resistance on the Red L.E.D, or the cutoff current of that L.E.D, is too low. L.E

What Kit's would be nice for 2021 and SSS reminder
John, I like your idea of a hybrid, but here's my twist. I remember an article in a ham magazine many decades ago about removing the tube finals and running just the driver to the output to make a QPR
