Trimmer tool
Thanks for the recommendation and eBay link. I just purchased a set. Was worth the extra few bucks to get them faster, from a supplier in the US. Looking forward to adding them to the tool collection

No more circuit board etching?
Just remember - no milling of FR-4 with it - too much fiberglass dust floating around. Dave AA7EE

Mystery project
The VRX-1 didn't have a 10MHz crystal - you must have already done some experimenting with it! Happy modding/experimenting :-) Dave AA7EE

Parts list for beginning builder
Yes - what Tom says! I could sit down and give you a longish list of what I think you should get, adding a bit to Tom's list, but I think the best way to do it is for you to slowly, over time, build u

Unbuilt HW-7 on eBay
I saw that too Dave but look at the price, and the HW-7 wasn't exactly a performer, was it? But yes, I know, I know, the nostalgia, and it's an unbuilt Heathkit :-) On a similar tack, I saw a blog pos

Clipperton on 15
Congratulations Wayne. That near real-time online log is a boon. They even plot the stations worked on an online map, as they work them. They're setting new standards for large DXpeditions, IMO. PS -

Yes, the 15M pile-up seems particularly dense. This is one of those times I wish I had a way to view a segment of the band on a waterfall display, Dave AA7EE

Yes - isn't it great how fast that online log is updated? I love it! I'm not terribly experienced at the art of listening and determining where a DX station is listening. Two of the times I worked 'em

Congratulations Terry! I've gotten 'em on 80, 20 and 12 so far - all with 5W. The 80M Q was particularly gratifying, as my antenna is a 66 foot dipole fed in the middle with 300 ohm line. Missed the m

Group and my email
Thanks for all the work Don. I rarely post here, but do enjoy reading the posts to this group. I guess you could categorize me as "dormant wood" instead of "dead wood" :-) Dave AA7EE
