And here is how things sounded in northern NJ on my TenTec 539 (Argo VI) fed by an inverted L, up 76' and out 90' with about a mile and a half of in-ground radials:
Band was fairly quiet despite sunrise (but no visible sunshine at ground level, only light rain and a solid cloud cover) having occurred two hours earlier, but QSB caused nearly a two S-unit swing on all signals.
