Radio and SOTA Friends,
I apologize for passing this along via email. My plate is full right now.
Wednesday evening, my wife, Teri, passed away at a hospital in the
On Tuesday she had a procedure to clear some vascular blockage in her
left leg. We were there to see a specialist to avoid an amputation that
was suggested here in Springfield where we live. The procedure went well
and she was up and walking Tuesday afternoon. She commented that her leg
felt better than it had in a couple of months. Because of some other
medical conditions the doctor wanted her to spend an extra night as a
precaution since we live about three hours away. She had previously been
diagnosed with congestive heart failure and kidney disease.
Wednesday evening after I got back to the hotel, the hospital called and
said I needed to return. Her heart rate was dropping and they were
having trouble stabilizing it. She passed fairly peacefully about 20
minutes after I got there.
